The Ork Meganobz are elite, heavily armored infantry units found in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. A Meganob is a particularly rich and battle-hardened Ork Nob who pays a Mekboy (Ork mechanic) to build a powerful suit of "Mega Armour," turning them into a walking tank. This ponderous, piston-driven armor is a potent status symbol and makes its wearer incredibly resilient on the battlefield.
Physical characteristics
Heavy armor: The most striking feature of Meganobz is their massive, custom-built Mega Armour. It is bashed together from thick steel plates, hydraulic rams, and scavenged parts. It provides extreme protection, allowing a Meganob to shrug off small arms fire.
Intimidating presence: Even a tank round is unlikely to do more than knock a Meganob over and worsen its already foul temper. Their clanking, smoke-belching suits of armor make them an imposing sight on the battlefield.
Slow but unstoppable: Due to the bulky nature of their armor, Meganobz move slowly. However, their sheer bulk and firepower make them a terrifying force once they get into combat.
Grot Oiler: Some Meganobz are accompanied by a Grot Oiler, a small servitor tasked with maintaining their massive armor and extinguishing fires.
Typical wargear
Power Klaws: Meganobz are known for their Power Klaws, massive cybernetic claws capable of tearing apart vehicles and ripping through enemy armor with ease.
Twin-linked Shootas: This ranged option is a pair of ballistic weapons known for their noise and high volume of fire ("dakka"), if not their accuracy.
Killsaws: For maximum melee damage, a Meganob can be equipped with a pair of killsaws. This heavy-duty melee option is particularly effective against heavily armored targets.
Kombi-weapons: These combo weapons feature a twin-linked shoota combined with a one-shot, heavier weapon, such as a rokkit launcha (rocket launcher) or skorcha (flamethrower).
Stikkbombz: Like other Orks, Meganobz can use Stikkbombz, which are crude but powerful grenades.
Battlefield role
Elite bodyguard: Meganobz often serve as an elite retinue for an Ork Warboss, accompanying their leader into the thickest fighting with savage enthusiasm.
Heavy assault troops: Due to their low speed, Meganobz are often transported into battle via armored Battlewagons to ensure they get into combat quickly. Their role is to engage and destroy the heaviest enemy forces.
Command potential: One model in a squad of Meganobz can be built as a Big Mek in Mega Armour. This character brings battlefield repairs and unique weapon options like a Kustom Mega-Blasta, Tellyport Blasta, or a Kustom Forcefield.
