The Dragon Shield Dual Matte Crypt sleeves are gray, standard-sized card sleeves featuring a textured matte back, a clear front, and a fully opaque black interior. The opaque interior creates a dark, elegant background for black-bordered cards. The sleeve color is inspired by a "crypt, eerie and macabre".
Product features
Shuffle feel: The Dual Matte sleeves have a smooth, buttery shuffle feel, which is different from the feel of original Matte sleeves.
Card sizing: They are standard size (63x88mm), suitable for trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Flesh & Blood.
Black interior: A black-lined interior provides 100% opacity, which is ideal for competitive play. This feature prevents card information from being visible through the back of the sleeve, a potential issue with some lighter-colored single-matte sleeves.
Packaging: Each box contains 100 sleeves and a sturdy cardboard box that can be used to hold 75+ single-sleeved cards or 65+ double-sleeved cards. The box also has a label for personalization.
Material: The sleeves are made from PVC-free and acid-free polypropylene, ensuring they are archival safe.
Thickness: They have a quality thickness of 120 microns.
Clarity: The clear front provides high clarity, meaning it won't dull the look of foils or other card art.
Dual Matte vs. Original Matte
While Dual Matte sleeves are a popular choice, there are some differences when compared to the original Matte sleeves:
Shuffle feel: Dual Mattes have a smoother, less grippy feel than the original Mattes.
Opacity: The black interior of the Dual Mattes provides superior, 100% opacity compared to some lighter original Matte colors.
Durability: Some reviews note that the seams on the Dual Matte sleeves are slightly less resistant to splitting under pressure than the original Matte sleeves, potentially making them less durable over the long run.
