The Onager Dunecrawler is a heavily armored, quadrupedal combat walker serving as the primary light tank for the Skitarii Legions of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Inspired by the "Mars Universal Land Engine" used by ancient terran explorers, this walker is revered as a holy reliquary by its crew.

Lore and Design
The Dunecrawler is known for its predatory, insect-like gait that allows it to scuttle across shattered ruins and toxic terrain.
Symbiotic Crew: It is piloted by a two-person team: a Skitarii Ranger gunner and a Skitarii Vanguard driver. The driver is immersed in "electro-amniotic fluid" to communicate directly with the walker's Machine Spirit.
Expendable Parts: Due to the intense radiation and energy of the Dunecrawler’s reactor, the crews are often treated as expendable batteries and are replaced when they inevitably die from exposure.
Tabletop Gameplay (10th Edition)
In the current edition, the Onager Dunecrawler is valued more for its durability and defensive utility than pure damage.
Emanatus Force Field: Provides a vital 5+ invulnerable save (4++ in certain conditions), making it one of the toughest "points-per-wound" units in the faction.
Aura Support: It often grants defensive buffs to nearby Battleline units, such as Skitarii Rangers or Vanguard, helping them survive on mid-board objectives.
Armament Options
The Dunecrawler is a highly customizable platform with four main weapon variants:
Neutron Laser: A high-strength anti-tank cannon that can "one-tap" enemy vehicles but suffers from a low number of shots.
Eradication Beamer: A "casino cannon" that can massively over-perform with sustained hits but is highly unpredictable.
Icarus Array: A dedicated anti-aircraft package featuring twin autocannons and missile launchers, ideal for clearing flyers and light infantry.
Twin Onager Phosphor Blasters: Best suited for clearing elite infantry (MEQs) and ignores cover.
