Adeptus Mechanicus: Ironstrider

An Ironstrider is a distinctive, two-legged bipedal walking tank used by the Skitarii legions of the Adeptus Mechanicus in Warhammer 40,000. It is powered by the legendary Ironstrider Engine, a perpetual motion machine designed by the techno-archaeologist Tech-Priest Aldebran Bour. Because the secrets of its construction have been lost to time, these walkers are never turned off; they are left running endlessly on vast treadmills when not deployed in active combat zones.

In the tabletop game and lore, the multi-part plastic model kit can be built as one of two highly specialized battlefield configurations:1. Ironstrider BallistariusThis variant serves as a mobile, fast-moving artillery platform designed for long-range target assassination and armor piercing.The Pilot: Features a cybernetic Skitarii gunner standing in an exposed stirrup harness over the machine, hard-wired into the platform's advanced target-acquisition telemetry.Weapons Options: Can be equipped with either a twin-linked Cognis Autocannon for cutting down elite infantry or a twin-linked Cognis Lascannon for taking down heavy enemy tanks.2. Sydonian DragoonThis variant functions as a fast attack, shock-cavalry unit meant to scout ahead and smash directly into enemy frontlines. The Pilot: The Skitarii rider sits directly astride the walker like a traditional cavalryman, steering the mechanical beast into close-quarters melee combat.  Weapons Options: Typically armed with a high-voltage Taser Lance that releases explosive kinetic energy upon impact, or a Radium Jezail for toxic, mid-range sniper support. It is also shrouded by an incense-spewing exhaust pipe that acts as a smoke screen to distort enemy aim.
